The privacy and security of your data is something we take seriously and lawfully. We do not collect any personal information when you visit our site as a visitor. Writing reviews on the site
When you submit a review on our website we ask you to provide a username and email address to ensure – as much as possible – that reviews are legitimate. The information is kept within the website database. If we need to ask you about your review one of our administrators will access your email address so we can contact you via email. We do not export emails from our website to any other database or tool. For example, we do not add you to our mailing list just because you wrote a review. If you would like to receive our newsletter we ask you to subscribe separately. To delete your account please email: email@example.com Please use the email address you used to submit the review.
Visiting the site
We use Google Analytics cookies to track anonymous usage statistics but we do not collect any personal information that can be used to identify you. This data helps us analyse web page usage and improve our website in order to tailor it to our audience needs. Google Analytics stores information about what pages you visit, how long you are on the site, how you got there and what you clicked on. We have limited the time the data is stored to 24 months which we consider to be necessary and useful to review trends and changes in use.
Subscribing to our mailing list
We use MailerLite to send out our newsletter about six times a year. MailerLite only records your email address. When you subscribe to our newsletter you are sent an email which asks you to confirm that you really do want to subscribe. Of course, you can unsubscribe at any time.
Making a restaurant booking
Our Role as Data Controller and Data Processor
It is important to understand the difference between being a data controller and data processor.
When bookings are made for a restaurant listed on favouritetables.com then the restaurant, or booking partner, is the data controller. This means they determine how your personal information is processed. This included both how long your data is kept following making a booking (retention period), and maintaining marketing preferences.
We are not responsible for any restaurant’s use of information for which it is an owner or controller. To learn more about how a restaurant may use such personal information, you should review its privacy notice.
You can choose whether or not you wish to receive information from us. If you do not want to receive direct marketing communications from us, you can opt out by not ticking the relevant boxes on the forms where we collect your personal information.
We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email, phone or text message unless you have given your prior consent. You can change your marketing preferences at any time by contacting us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you would like to delete personal information relating to a booking, please contact the restaurant where the reservation was made. Please allow a minimum of ten working days from the date of your request for your information to be removed.
