Bombay Palace, Torrevieja, Spain

We really felt we should share our experience on this great page from our long stay in Cuidad Quesada, Costa Blanca, Spain this winter, we really fancied a ruby, so after spotting this little gem of a place near El Limonar we decided to try it
The Bombay Palace was a tad quiet at lunch time but we were greeted by a very friendly staff and along with a huge menu selection, we were offered the menu del dia (menu of the day)

For a mere €8.95 we could choose from a 3 starters, 4 main and 3 sweets. Included was, a papadum with sauces, a beer or wine, a starter a main course with naan and a sweet plus an aperitif at the end.
But what would you expect for around £6.50 in any curry house, well quite a good deal actually and quite honestly one of the best Indian meals I’ve ever tasted. The food was superb and very traditional almost like Indian home cooking if there is such a thing?
For starters Denise had a chicken majestic and I had onion bhaji with salad trimmings, really lovely and was a good portion too.
Main meal, Denise had a chicken Balti while I opted for the good old chicken madras served with Plain rice. The way it was served was delightful and new to us.

We had a rose’ wine and lager respectively, and finally ice cream and a baileys to finish.
The food was absolutely exquisite, the service second to none and restaurant itself, really nicely laid out. Gotta say that we could not fault it.
We will be definitely returning before we head for home in April.
Wonderful experience, you must try.

The Grand Hotel Gardone Riviera

We recently stayed at The Grand Hotel Gardone Riviera for 11 nights, situated on the south west shore of Lake Garda, Italy. The hotel itself is beautiful, however, the highlight of the trip had to be the restaurant. Those who aren’t staying can still eat dinner on the terrace. This was the first hotel on Lake Garda and remains one of its finest.

The building itself is beautiful, and the view of the lake from the restaurant is simply stunning. It is a fantastic setting and has the food and service to match.

From beautiful fresh fish dishes to pork, lamb, veal and beef, the meat was incredible. Fresh salads, perfectly cooked vegetables and delicious garnishes.  The deserts were also wonderful and it was impossible not to indulge! There is a huge selection of local wines to compliment every meal. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in the area. The service is outstanding, and although not the cheapest restaurant in the area, you definitely get what you pay for!!

Little Bay

This new year me and my partner decided to celebrate in Belgrade, Serbia. I have heard many great things about their food, and being a big foodie, I thought it would be a great idea to experience this tasty culture of theirs.
I don’t eat because I’m hungry, I eat because I’m hungry for taste which is why I eat many times, but small portions. One of the reasons why I have a nice figure I think?….right enough about me.

This is a restaurant in Belgrade (Little Bay), but fear not! the chain of restaurants is actually in London as well!
The restaurant is decorated as a theater, lovely classical music relaxing you from the background and the service is just amazing.

It is a very classy and a romantic place to take your girlfriend or a date to, but also very great for business meetings just to show off of a little bit. Sometimes you just have to!

My favorite dish was the starter. Feta cheese croquettes, because I really love everything cheesy, including my partner .

As I was biting through the croquettes, the ”summer” from Vivaldi started and I was experiencing a rather unique pleasure from the combination. I am not a big classical listener but It is very different to eat croquet’s to Vivaldi and eating them to Bruno Mars, just saving you the trouble in case you wanted to try.
The beef bourguignon that I had was amazing, the meat was literally falling apart by a small fork poke. Seriously delicious and juicy. I am also 80% sure I just drooled a bit on my keyboard :/

I will again recommend Little Bay, as it really left me speechless and not because my mouth was constantly full. The experience is very different and it almost makes you want to dress up in the baroque fashion and role-play your dinner away.

Don’t want to bore with too much of writing, so here are some pictures to conclude this review.
